Daniel Khalastchi is an Iraqi Jewish American poet, educator, and publisher. His most recent book, The Story of Your Obstinate Survival, was awarded the National Jewish Book Award for Poetry and longlisted for the PEN/Voelcker Award for Poetry. Daniel currently directs the Magid Center for Writing at the University of Iowa
